I listened to your interview with Granta and cannot shake some of the things you said about teaching creative writing at Testrup Højskole/ or in a Nordic model country as opposed to a capitalist society. As a creative writing professor in a private liberal arts college in the states, I do have an ungrading practice, and don't give exams, but my students have these demands upon them in other courses, and there is still such pressure for productivity in all other aspects of their lives. I have tried my best to implement generative AI-resistant models of teaching. I also think this pull for productivity and recognition impairs my own creative praxis and internal life. I was very moved by the whimsy in The Wax Child. For these reasons, I'd love to find a way to secure research funding to visit Testrup Højskole and explore how I can incorporate your pedagogy here in the States. I mean, yes, not 100% possible given the high costs of education and childcare, the lack of affordable housing and healthcare, and the absence of a universal basic income... but it seems like the platonic ideal for encouraging creativity, and I feel at a crisis in my own internal and creative life. Anyhow... appreciate your comments and work.

I hear you! Just to clarify, I was not talking about Testrup Højskole (a 5 months boarding school, that actually costs money, and is a great course) but "Forfatterskolen" in Copenhagen, which is a free 2-year education with a 2% acceptance rate
